Rio is also very determined when it comes to reaching her goals, even breaking the rules if she has to.

After the incident with kidnapping Aris, Rio has mellowed out considerably and has shown to deeply regret her actions in Volume 2. Her rival Himari pointed out her possessiveness and abruptness in taking a leave of absence. She brought up the fact that thanks to Rio's actions, her bodyguard Toki grew up with no friends and left with no one to talk to but Himari. Rio is later shown to be curled up under a desk, implicitly out of sorrow and regret.

Rio is a tall, beautiful woman with long black hair that reaches her thigh with blunt bangs. She has a fair skin complexion and red eyes with white pupils.

Trivia[]

  • Rio's nickname is based on "Big Brother" from George Orwell's novel, Nineteen Eighty-Four.
  • In a developer commentary, isakusan mentioned that Rio was originally primarily designed as an imposing, controlling villain before SeongMin fleshed her out, ending up with her seeker-complex which gave birth to her rivalry with Himari while still attempting to seek her understanding.[1]
    • In addition to her personality, the full black scheme of her outfit was done by Mx2j to set up a contrast between her and Sensei, alongside some unstated personal desires.[2]
    • Additionally, Rio's obsession with outdated designs led to the decision of the current design for Mister Avant-Garde with the intentions of making Rio cuter and allowing players to accept her easier.[3]
      • The creation of Mister Avant-Garde also caused it to have a cult-like popularity around the developer team.[4]
  • Although Rio still remains as an unvoiced and unplayable character in the game so far, she has not become a subject of a memetic mockery like Yurizono Seia. This is likely due to her popularity in the fan art community due to her appealing physique.
