Ruins (廃墟) is an abandoned city located in Kivotos.
| “ | It's a place where things in Kivotos disappear and are forgotten...like some sort of sewer. | ” |
Background[]
An abandoned and ruined city located somewhere in Kivotos, presumably in Millennium due to being trespassed mostly by Millennium students. It is somehow connected to the Iridescence and the Nameless Preists due to the ancient technology stored within there (AL-1S).
General Information[]
The Ruins is an unidentified area in which entry and research is prohibited by the General Student Council for unknown and mysterious reasons. It gained its name from people due to how long it has been neglected. Rumors of this place have constantly been circulating amongst the Millennium students.
In an Alternate timeline, a certain person activated AL-1S, who formed the Ark of Atra-Hasis and laid waste to Millennium and presumably Kivotos at large.
Although it is prohibited to enter and research the area, that does not stop some from attempting to discover what's hidden in these ruins. Among them are Sensei and the Saiba Twins, members of the Game Development Department who originally sought for the G.BIBLE. Himari had informed them of the artifact's existence, and their search instead turned up a strange girl who became Alice. Yuzu later joined to continue their quest to find the G.BIBLE, eventually finding what seemed to be the program. A lack of power nearly resulted in its loss, but the data was preserved through the sacrifice of one of Midori's mobile game systems. Unbeknownst to them at the time, the program was actually <Key>, which integrated into Alice following contact with a strange robot left behind by the Nameless Priests.
Submerged District[]
An area of The Ruins where Decagrammaton's signal was detected by Himari during Operation: Decagrammaton. After finding strange coordinates during her research, Himari noticed an odd call signal disguised as white noise which piqued her curiosity. Of course, nothing gets past her and this was no exception. After looking into the signal, she found out that it matched Decagrammaton's signal which proved that Decagrammaton resides somewhere in the Submerged District of The Ruins. This was also where Kether was found for the first time which was suspected to be guarding the area. Kether then attacked Sensei and Eimi due to the presence of intruders, however Kether was unsuccessful because of the coordinated attacks from Eimi and Himari, Kether then attacked again few times with new weapons but is failed misreably, making the sefira retreat from all the battle damage it encountered.
The most peculiar out of everything in this area of The Ruins is that it should've been completely submerged underwater based on the topographical analysis, hence the name, yet dry land was visible in the area. Apparently, a massive dam was built around ten kilometers away from the area keeping the water away. Aquatic moss can be seen reaching all the way up the middle of nearby buildings which proved that the area was submerged.
Research District[]
An area located far in the outskirts of Submerged District which focused on the research labs and facilities with its name given by Himari for the sake of convenience. After enough data was collected, Himari was able to narrow down Decagrammaton's hypothesized location to this specific area. This District has been collapsed due to Decagrammaton's Self Destruct mechanism, turning the entire District into pieces of rubble and ash.
Abandoned Factory[]
During the events of Decagrammaton, one of the areas from the ruins is an Abandoned Factory in Millennium located also in the Ruins, however, it is suspected that this Factory had been doing suspicious activity such as mass-producing robots and other Automaton units, it's clearly that the Factory has now under control of Decagrammaton, which is now the lair of Chesed, Chesed is the Fourth Prophet, secured by 3 gates and producing robots and defenses to create their own army for a future conflict.
