Synopsis[]

SRT has shut down, but it doesn't seem like all of its students like that! As Sensei grows closer to the defiant RABBIT Platoon, forces lurking in the shadows begin to make their move. The remnants of SRT Special Academy, Valkyrie Police Academy, and the General Student Council clash as their hopes and motives come to light. How will Sensei get through this time, and is there any light at the end of the tunnel for the RABBIT Platoon?

Trivia[]

  • The Rabbit of Caerbannog is a reference to the fictional Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog from the 1975 comedy film, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The rabbit was a guardian for the cave of Caerbannog, and managed to slay a number of King Arthur's knights before being killed by the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch.
    • While the location of Caerbannog is fictional, the word does make sense in Welsh, with caer meaning "castle" and bannog possibly meaning "turreted."
  • Due to an incident[1] in South Korea, Volume 4's Part 1 update for Global had to be postponed for a week, consequently postponing Saki and Miyako's banners as well. As compensation, these two banners were given a period extension and fused with Miyu's banner along with some extra rewards.
  • Global Part 2 of this volume was released a week after Part 1's release, making it the second fastest Main Story update in Blue Archive history, following Volume F's Chapter 2 update with only 2 days.
  • At the end of Vol. 4 Chp. 1, it was confirmed that Chapter 2 would be released on an unconfirmed date. Despite that, Volume F was released with all four chapters before Chapter 2, which made players wonder when V4C2 would be released. Chapter 2 ended up being released after Volume F as it takes place chronologically after.
  • Chapter 2's title is likely a reference to the 2002 war film, We Were Soldiers.
  • As CN version of the story is fully voiced in Chinese, Shiranui Kaya and FOX Platoon members (Yukino, Niko, Otogi and Kurumi) get their voices first in Chinese as remaining NPCs of the game.
  • During a developer commentary[2], it was clarified that Volume 4 was written with the intent of fulfilling the "military" part of Blue Archive's catchphrase "Academy, Youth, Military." The story was meant to differentiate the SRT students, who experienced destructive growth by sacrificing their pride, honor, and diversions to become elites, from other students who experienced constructive growth by building towards unachieved goals. They also attempted to separate the FOX Platoon, who believed in adult cynicism, from the RABBIT Platoon who believed in Sensei.
    • Oh Hyunseok, one of the developers, took notice of Kaya's design and thought "This is the face of a conspirator. I need to make her start a coup." He recalled begging the team to add her as one of the main characters for this chapter.[3]
