Supplementary 1 — Supplementary Lesson Department

The Supplementary Lessons Department (補習授業部, Supplementary Lessons Department), also known as the Make-Up Work Club on Global, is one of the school clubs in Trinity General School.

Background[]

The Supplementary Lesson Department is a club that was hastily formed by Trinity's student council, the Tea Party, to provide assistance to students with failing exam grades! Although this task would normally be handled by the Tea Party, the close proximity of the Eden Treaty means that they have little time to spare.

General Information[]

The Make-Up Work club is a temporary club formed by the Tea Party to assist failing students. It is advised by Sensei and formed using SCHALE's authority.^[1]

The club is designed to assist and deepen a student's understanding on their skills. It's a club that is only available for students who fail their exams, and will be dissolved once every member successfully passes an Evaluation Exam at once. While Sensei is in charge of helping the students, its members are encouraged to assist one another in their studies.

In truth, however, the Make-Up Work Club was established for the sole purpose of containing and expelling a "traitor" who seeks to sabotage the Eden Treaty, according to Nagisa. Consequently, if all of the members do not pass any of the Evaluation Exams at once, they will be expelled from Trinity. The club's composition is comprised solely of students suspected by Nagisa to be a potential threat to the treaty in one way or another.^[2]

Hifumi was rumored to be the leader of a criminal gang and also a frequent visitor to the black market.
Azusa is a transfer student with a record of violent incidents.
Koharu is not suspicious herself, but is there to place a restraint on Hanekawa Hasumi, whose animosity against Gehenna has the potential to throw a wrench in the treaty.
Hanako was an exceptional student in her first year, to the extent of flawlessly passing the third year exams and even becoming a Tea Party candidate. She is also well acquainted with many of Trinity's higher-ups. Therefore, her drop in performance during her second year could not have been anything other than her purposely failing, which is suspicious.^[3]

The exams that the Make-Up Work Club takes are all controlled by the Tea Party. As such, they can be freely tampered by the Tea party with no limit. This includes, but not limited to; changing the exam material, passing score, the location, and time. This system allows Nagisa to utilize the club as a failsafe as well; if the traitor is not located in time, then disposing the entire group will ensure that the traitor is purged.^[2]

In events, the members rarely appear together. Hifumi and Azusa are part of the main cast of Summer Sky's Wishlist, while Hanako and Koharu become part of the main cast of Trinity's Extracurricular Activities. All of them briefly met together at the end of the latter.

Trivia[]

With the release of Koharu (Swimsuit) and Hanako (Swimsuit), all members have an alternate playable variant (in this case, a Swimsuit one).
Koharu was a former member of Justice Task Force, suffered from failing scores. The result is her having to join the Make-Up Work Club. However, even after passing the club's evaluation exam, she and her friends from the club decided to keep the club as a form of their friendship.
Azusa, an Arius Squad spy, became a double agent prior to the third make-up work exam in the first incarnation of the club, thus completing her transfer to the Trinity and Make-Up Work Club.
