Main Story (メインストーリー ) of Blue Archive, following Sensei's exploits across the schools of Kivotos, solving various problems and guiding their students towards a better future. There is currently a prologue and six volumes.

Overview and Features[]

The main stories are divided into volumes, where each volume will focus on a certain school. These volumes will be further divided into chapters, which would be also divided into number of episodes. Length of each episodes can vary and the number of episodes in a chapter also varies, although they usually present in a range of 16 to 27 episodes per chapter.

Each stories works in a visual novel-like way, in which most of the time, the story will either be told from Sensei's or any character point of view. Multiple choice dialogues will usually be available for Sensei, although, most of the time, it is for the players, who is the Sensei, to convey their dialogues with the students and any choices does not affect the story. Though, there are times where multiple choices do give different variant of response afterwards. CG and L2Ds will be occasionally present during some moments of the story, some might be voiced.

Each episode completed rewards 40x pyroxenes, with additional 20x pyroxenes each episode are given in achievement, making the total number of pyroxenes rewarded are 60 per episode. Some chapter ends gifts furniture called Recollection Memory which can be put in the cafe and plays a certain PV if tapped.

Story Combat[]

Some episodes in the story contain combat stages where students will be able to be played for combat against enemies. However, most of the stages are filled with predetermined students and their levels, so either any Sensei don't own them or has the students not at par with the levels is ignorable here. Most stages are must-win stages, though there are times where students can lose a combat and the story will continue, usually when the enemy is found to be hard to defeat (ridiculous number of enemy spawns or boss life numbers, or attacking does not damage the enemy, or even all of them). Story combat stages does not reward anything.

There are however, combat stages that do require Sensei's own recruited students as is, and might require students on a certain level to beat the enemy. It is usually unannounced, but the character selection will be initially empty if that happens. This is said to be one way to "level-check" Sensei if one already gone further enough in the game to continue.

Combat Cutscenes[]

Combat cutscenes is a variation of the story combat, where a combat scene happened without much of Sensei control requirements, while retaining the main combat features alongside the SD graphics. The battle preparation and battle victory sections are mostly removed, and EX Skill is either unused or auto-applied in combat. The outcome is largely unchanged, sometimes just cut off in the middle and story will still progress afterwards.

The feature is introduced in Volume F and is prominent during later Main Story releases where 1-by-1 battles between characters frequently occur and requires less interference by Sensei plot-wise.

Trivia[]

  • Oddly enough, Volume 5 appeared after the release of the Final Volume.
    • While the first chapter of Volume 4 was released before the Final Volume, V4C2 which takes place chronologically after Volume F was released after.
  • Other types of Stories have been mentioned in the Main Story. Examples include:
    • Azusa thanking Hifumi for taking her to the beach in V3C3E13, which references Summer Sky's Wishlist event story. There is even a CG that can be seen during the event that is seen again in this episode.
    • When Yuuka mentioned that a large amount of funds were embezzled to create Eridu in V2C2E12, Akane suggests that it was to do with the incident with Koyuki, to which Yuuka catches on. The incident is referencing Bunny Chaser on Board event story.
    • VFC2 has a scene where Gourmet Research Society pointed out Kaitengers appearance during the fight with Iridescence Perorodzilla where Izumi said last time they tried to order from them they "increased the interest rate". This is a reference of Aru's relationship story, where it is revealed that the group has mistakenly contacted Problem Solver 68 to order sushi and Aru using the interest rate part to cover up the mistake.
  • In CN version, all main stories are fully voiced in Chinese. This includes unreleased characters in CN and NPCs, either recognizable characters like Black Suit and Master Shiba, mob characters or any other extra NPCs.
    • This caused some major NPC students (that is expected to be playable, but not happening in all versions yet) like Yurizono Seia, FOX Platoon and Tsukatsuki Rio getting their Chinese voices first before Japanese and Korean as they will only receive voices for the latter languages when they become playable. The fact do spur memes especially towards Seia.
    • While CN has a dual-language mode where teachers can switch between Chinese and Japanese voices, main stories will remain voiceless if teachers set the voice to Japanese.
  • Volume EX is a special case where it started as an event before being moved permanently into main story and receives further updates as part of main story.
    • As it has added into Main Story, all episodes receives same achievement and clear reward treatment like other main story. Its story clear progress has also been reset for those who already played it as an event before.
