Maintenance (メンテナンス ) in the game is a period where the game will be put offline for a certain period for content updates and bug fixes. During this period, the game will not be made accessible to players and those who are logged in exactly on the start of maintenance will be removed from the game. Sensei is required to download additional data required in the loading screen when starting the game for the first time after maintenance.
There are a few types of maintenance routines that occur throughout the game.
Maintenance Types[]
Routine Maintenance[]
A scheduled routine maintenance will occur biweekly or triweekly in the game, and will update contents of the game for the upcoming two or three weeks depending on the patch notes given along with the notice. The maintenances will occur usually on weekly reset days of the game - Tuesday for Global, Wednesday for JP and Thursday for CN, but a routine maintenance can happen on different days during special occasions.
A routine maintenance lasts averagely 5-8 hours (for JP and Global) and may be extended or shortened by further notice.
Store Update[]
During routine maintenances, periodically there will be a prompt in-game that redirect Senseis to any app stores to apply the stores app data of the game before starting the in-game update.
Emergency Maintenance[]
An emergency maintenance is called if there are incidents in the game that may affect the gameplay critically and requires an urgent fix. Depending on severity of the issue, the maintenance may be extended to an indefinite end time until a further notice is given.
Temporary Maintenance[]
A temporary maintenance is called to fix any less-critical but important issues of the gameplay that should be fixed sooner outside the usual maintenance routine, and in comparison to Emergency Maintenance, the maintenance is made scheduled and announced hours before its set schedule. However there's no guarantee about its extension.
Data Patch[]
A data patch is another type of Temporary Maintenance applied to less complex fix of the game, where rather than putting the game offline, there will be an instant patch fixes applied to the game at the scheduled time. Senseis may continue playing as usual after the fix, however it is required to refresh the game to be able to play with the fix applied.
Compensations[]
Usually Senseis will be compensated by Pyroxenes with averagely 120 Pyroxenes rewarded for each hour of maintenance, subject to final notice given in the end of the maintenance. Should the maintenance be extended, more pyroxenes will be given by default, but if the maintenance is shortened no Pyroxenes will be reduced.
However in the case of the maintenance being prolonged to the point it affects daily access of the players and other aspects of the games, other compensations such as AP, credits and any other in-game currency (Total Assault, Grand Assault or Joint Fire Drill coins, as well as any event currencies if it occurs during a game event) may be given subjected to the end of maintenance notice given.
No compensations will be given in any Data Patch due to the fix does not interrupt any of the gameplay (even if the prompt to refresh is given, Senseis can continue with their ongoing gameplay after that). However, any compensation may still be given if the area fixed has gameplay flaws before its fix.
