Background[]
// FILE.015 [Game Development Department]
The "Game Development Department" is one of the club activities at Millennium Science School! Of course, everyone seems to like various games, but retro games are most popular for the Department themselves. For Millennium students, who strive to pursue cutting-edge technology, they consider the club members as weirdos.
General Information[]
In contrast to their school's motto, this club is focused on making retro games. One can mistake it with a typical gaming club.
This club is the main focus of the Millennium Arc, Clockwork Flower Pavane. During the arc, the club is in danger of being dissolved due to A.) only having three members and B.) not having made any notable accomplishments for the year.
During the act, Sensei of SCHALE was tasked (forcibly conscripted) by the Saiba twins Momoi and Midori to help them solve these problems in order to save their club. Although later involving butting heads directly against Yuuka of Seminar with aid from other departments, especially Veritas who needs The Optimus Mirror System to crack the mysterious G.BIBLE.
By the end of the first chapter of Vol. 2, with Aris' recruitment and the unexpected double whammy of the special achievement award and the incredibly positive critical reception to their game, the club was successfully saved and had its permit renewed for the rest of the year.
During the events of the second chapter of Vol. 2, the club's problems didn't end there, as sometime later, the problem comes from Alice's mysterious past and her connection to the Nameless Priests. This yet again got them at odds with Seminar, only now, they're against President Rio who considers Alice a danger to not only Millennium, but Kivotos as well. Thankfully, backed with her own friends, especially Neru, and Sensei, she fights for her safety as well as to deal with the mysterious being that possess her.
In Volume F, Where All Miracles Begin, the club, along with RABBIT Platoon and Hina, are fighting against Shiro and Kuro to take down the third false sanctum. They also participate in the conquest of Ark of Atrahasis and battle against Phrenapates as Utnaphistim's Ship's crew and combatants, bringing Sword of Light: Supernova of Atrahasis as the ship's main gun.
This club is also the main focus of Warning of White Chalk. Mistaken for C&C by someone named Meitaro, they have to masquerade as maids to protect an art exhibit from the Phantom Thief. After dealing with the Phantom Thief, they found out about the true nature of Meitaro and the art exhibit. The club, along with the Phantom Thief and Toki that appeared in bunny suit, has to work together to deal with the guards and Meitaro, that happens to hire another group of guards.
Outside the game, they are the main focus of Beautiful Day Dreamer and Blue Archive The Adventure of Game Development Department.
Games Developed[]
The Game Development Department has developed several games, such as:
Tales Saga Chronicle Series[]
- Tales Saga Chronicles Prototype - prototype version of Tales Saga Chronicles, created by Yuzu. The poor reception of this game contributed to Yuzu's social anxiety and the Saiba Sisters' interest, leading to the establishment of the Game Development Department.
- Tales Saga Chronicles - the first game created by the Game Development Department. This game won the "Worst Game of the Year" award and was cited by Yuuka as one of the reasons to disband the Game Development Department.
- Tales Saga Chronicles 2 - a game created as a means to save the Game Development Department. This game's quality is considered average, but the surprise improvement over Tales Saga Chronicles allowed it to win the Millennium Prize Special Award.

- Millennium Quest - a game that appeared during the 2023 April Fools stream in the official Japanese YouTube channel. A web version of the game was playable using a browser.[1] In the web game, extinguishing all candles right after entering the Demon Lord's castle unlocked the true ending route, featuring extra enemies and a different ending credit. Characters included in this game are:
- Aris - the player character. The stats for level 1 Aris in this game are taken from Aris's level 1 stats in Blue Archive.
- Princess Yuuka - an NPC that appeared at the beginning of the game. She ordered the player character to help defeat the demon lord.
- Slime - monsters that are found in the grassland.
- Neru - an enemy that can be found after entering the Demon Lord's castle. In the stream and normal ending route of the web game, Neru can be defeated by one hit. In the true ending route of the web game, a stronger Neru appeared.
- Demon Lord Yuuka - the final boss of the game. She is the same person as Princess Yuuka that appeared earlier, after she revealed her true colors. She has demon horns and wings. After seeing this on stream, Yuuka went to the Game Development Department's room, told Aris to stop playing this game, and force-closed the game.
- Sumire - an enemy that can be encountered by fishing in the web game. After defeating her, she appeared in the inventory.
- Koyuki - an enemy that can be encountered in the true ending route of the web game.
- Noa - an enemy that can be encountered in the true ending route of the web game. After defeating her, Neru appeared and immediately starts a battle.
- True Demon Lord Yuuka - the true final boss of the game. She is much more powerful than Demon Lord Yuuka that appeared earlier. She has a special move named Fermat's Last Theorem.
- ??? - A game that was under development during the special episode of Sensei, I Will Take A Moment of Your Time!. The lead developer is Momoi and it features Yuuka as the main villain. It is implied to be an eroge with sexy drawings of breasts and thighs.
