A firearm (武器,firearm) in Blue Archive is any type of gun designed to be readily carried and used by an individual, ranging from small arms to heavier equipment that assists the students during their missions by helping them gain combat advantages effectively.
Firearms operate like their real-life counterparts. The only difference between the real world and Kivotos is the ease of access to firearms. The given reason remains unknown, but can be hypothesized that a simple shot to the head of a Kivotos resident could only cause a concussion at best as oppose to outright death due to how halos work.
Almost all students have access to firearms and can roam freely with weaponry openly visible; ammunition is also readily available at konbini shops such as Angel 24 and can be purchased from just about anywhere. If applied in real life, however, this would be highly illegal in every country in the world; and is worth remembering the world in which Sensei presides in is situated in an active conflict zone and, unlike the students of Kivotos, Sensei (and likely anyone who isn't bind by a halo) could very well suffer fatal wounds from any weapon.

Handgun[]
HG
A handgun is a small, lightweight, highly versatile, and portable firearm that can provide sufficient firepower without overburdening a user either offensively or defensively. The small nature of handguns means that they're usually meant as a backup weapon, for close-quarters combat, or as self-defense for auxiliary units. Handgun cartridges are usually small and short ranged meaning they aren't exactly a primary pick for a firefight. This is compounded by the fact that most handgun mechanisms only allow for semi-automatic operation thus their fire rate is rather limited.
For simplicity's sake all revolvers and self-loading pistols (select-fire or semi-automatic) will define as a handgun.
In the Blue Archive world, most Handgunners are placed in support role either as a Striker or Special and rarely plays an offensive role as a DPS unit. All Strikers Handgunners occupy the middle line and would typically fire in single bursts.

Assault Rifle[]
AR
The definition for an assault rifle is usually a point of contention but the Blue Archive world defines it as any rifle or carbine length firearm, chambered in intermediate or full power cartridge, with a detachable magazine, and capable of select-fire. Select-fire battle rifles (chambered in full-powered cartridges) that falls in the same definition as an assault rifle would be labeled as such considered said firearm isn't put in a fire support or marksman/sniper role (e.g., FN SCAR-H). Semi-automatic rifles like Hare's Kel-Tec RFB and Saori's SIG M400 would also consider as an Assault Rifle in this world regardless of its fire selection.
In the Blue Archive world, Assault Rifles are the most common form of weaponry and users of it are usually placed in an offensive DPS role. All Striker Assault Riflewomen occupy the middle line and would usually fire in bursts of three.

Machine Gun[]
MG
A machine gun is a fully automatic firearm capable of sustained firepower for prolonged bursts. Machine guns are usually placed in a fire support role such as suppressing enemy positions with a sustained hail of gunfire, or engaging lightly armored vehicles and low flying aircraft. Most modern machine guns are belt-fed, meaning their ammunition is only limited with how many rounds are linked together in the same "belt". Early light machine guns were magazine-fed although some still exists today in light support role. Multi-barreled rotary guns would also fall in this category.
In the Blue Archive world, Machine Guns are an alternative means of DPS although they cover more range than Assault Rifles. Some heavier Machine Guns may need to deploy and pack when firing and moving respectively. Striker Machine Gunners occupy the back line and would never seek cover. They would usually fire in bursts of three or seven.

Shotgun[]
SG
A shotgun is a firearm specifically designed to fire "shotgun shells". Shotshells use a variety of projectiles for different purposes. These projectiles include numerous lead or steel pellets known as shots, one larger singular shot more commonly known as a slug, magnesium incendiary shots, and sometimes non-lethal low velocity projectiles such as rubber or bean bags. The nature of these shells makes them popular in various close quarters engagements like trenches, jungle, and urban and indoor environments. As such shotguns has found many civilian, law enforcement, and even military purposes and has been around for around 150 years now.
In the Blue Archive world, most Shotgunners have defensive capabilities making them perfect for tanking duties though some still retain some offensive abilities. The shells they fire mean Shotguns may hit more than one unit at a time in a short range. All Striker Shotgunners would occupy the front lines and would never seek cover. They would also usually fire in single or two bursts.

A submachine gun is a shoulder-fired select-fire firearm chambered in pistol rounds. They are usually much more compact than regular rifles and thus they are often issued to vehicle and/or artillery crews. The compact size of it also means they are perfect for close-quarters combat where raw firepower overshadows the necessity for a more powerful cartridge. The short-ranged nature of pistol cartridges means, however, that they are virtually useless in long-ranged engagements thus they are rarely found in environments where range is paramount.
In the Blue Archive world, Submachine Gunners have varying roles either offensively, defensively, or support. Defensive Submachine Gunners usually carry a ballistic shield off-hand in conjunction with their firearm although there are some exceptions. Offensive Submachine Gunners are usually in a DPS role but their short-ranged nature means they have to be supported either by other strikers, by special supports, or they have an innate survival ability. Support Submachine Gunners are usually assigned in a special role. All Striker Submachine Gunners occupy the front lines and would typically fire in bursts of three. Some Submachine Gun users would not seek cover.

Sniper Rifle[]
SR
A sniper rifle is a firearm that is specialized for accurate, long-ranged fire. This meant that most sniper rifles are chambered in full-powered rounds and are equipped with high-powered scopes. Most bolt-action battle rifles would fall under this category provided it is kitted in a marksman role. Large-caliber anti-materiel rifles would also fall into this category.
In the Blue Archive world, Sniper Rifles deal much more damage per shot than any firearm only offsetting its low rate of fire and limited ammunition capacity. Snipers are rarely found in a support role although they certainly exist. All Striker Snipers occupy the back line and would fire in single burst.

Grenade Launcher[]
GL
A grenade launcher is a firearm specifically designed to fire grenade munitions. These grenade munitions come in many forms with different purposes due to the large projectile size much like a shotgun. Though unlike shotguns, grenade munitions are strictly relegated in a military or law enforcement purpose only. Grenade launchers are an easy way to increase the firepower capability of a rifle squad giving them access to long range explosives in the absence of artillery or armored support.
In the Blue Archive world, Grenade Launchers deal a very small splash damage when attacking. They also need to re-aim when switching targets. Grenadiers are found either in AoE DPS or support role. All Striker Grenadiers would occupy the middle line and would only fire in single bursts.

Rocket Launcher[]
RL
A rocket launcher is a weapon system designed to fire rockets, which are self-propelled, guided or unguided projectiles, at a target. They are commonly used to engage targets such as armored fighting vehicles, aircraft, fortified structures, or personnel from a distance.
It consists of a launch tube, a firing mechanism, and a sighting system. While some rocket launcher models are easily reloadable on the field, many launchers employ a "fire-and-forget" system which are single use launchers that are discarded once the rocket projectile have been fired. Most models that use this system are usually man-portable guided missile launchers.
In the Blue Archive world, much like Grenade Launchers, Rocket Launchers deal a very small splash damage upon projectile impact. They also need to re-aim when switching targets. Unlike grenades however, rockets have a slow projectile velocity, meaning they can miss their target if they move out of the rocket path. Rocketeers are commonly found in a DPS role. All Striker Rocketeers would occupy the back line.

Railgun[]
RG
A railgun is a weaponized linear motor device that uses electromagnetic force to accelerate a projectile to hypervelocity speeds. When a large amount of electrical current is passed, it creates a strong electromagnetic field that propels a projectile forward.
This technology is still in its experimental stage thus it is still not widely adapted by any major militaries. However, they have the potential to offer several advantages over gunpowder propelled projectiles including a longer range, a higher velocity, and reduced reliance on explosives.
In the Blue Archive world the experimental nature of this technology means all depictions of this weapon is purely fictional and is not based on any existing real-world models. The hypervelocities that Railguns produce means projectiles can overpenetrate and hit anyone behind its initial target. Railgunners are commonly found in an AoE DPS role. All Striker Railgunners occupy the back line and would never seek cover.

Mortar[]
MT
A mortar is a man-portable artillery piece that fires shells at a high angle, typically used by infantry or light artillery units as indirect fire support. It consists of a mortar tube, mounted on a baseplate, a bipod or tripod, and a firing mechanism. A modern mortar system is typically designed to be highly portable and can be operated by small teams, making them ideal for use in difficult terrain or in urban environments.
The shells are loaded into the muzzle and dropped down the barrel, where they are fired by a static firing pin or a trigger mechanism on the breech. Mortar shells come in a variety of calibers ranging from 60 mm to 240 mm and can fire a range of different types of rounds, including high-explosive, smoke, illumination, and precision-guided rounds. Some modern mortar models also often incorporate advanced technology, such as computerized fire control systems, to improve accuracy and reduce the time required to deliver accurate fire.
In the Blue Archive world, Mortars have the slowest fire rate among all of the small arms weapons having to set-up and re-aim every time they need to move and fire respectively. Though this is balanced for having the longest range for any weapon. Mortar shells also deal a small splash damage when attacking. Most Mortarwomen are found in an AoE support role. All Striker Mortarwomen occupy the rear and would never seek cover.

Flamethrower[]
FT
A flamethrower is an incendiary device designed to project a stream of flammable liquid from long ranges. These devices have two parts, the tank and the gun. Contemporary models would have a two-tank system, one to store the flammable liquid (such as napalm or petrol) and the other to store compressed inert gas to propel the flammable substance (usually nitrogen). The gun would consist of a small reservoir, a spring-loaded valve, and an ignition system. At war time these were highly effective at clearing out heavily fortified defensive positions such as bunkers and pillboxes. The use of these devices has since been restricted for military use though some are found in civilian purposes such as in agriculture, snow clearing, firefighting, and pest control.
In the Blue Archive world, Flamethrowers deal a continuous AoE damage in a cone shaped area. They fire in relatively short bursts and has to constantly reload after every burst. All Striker Flame Troopers occupy the front lines and would never seek cover.
