Blue Archive Wiki

Introduction

Welcome to the Blue Archive Fandom Wiki. To keep a civil environment, we implore you to abide by our rules here.

Editing

Basics

  • Please follow the editing style of this Wiki. You may check other articles for reference.
  • No excessive spamming/vandalism.
  • If you find an article without any content, do not hesitate to input information. You can study the format from other available articles.
  • Do not worry about grammatical errors when writing, as our editors will fix it eventually, but try to write it well enough that it makes sense.
  • If you accidentally messed up the source code of an article and don't know how to revert it back to its previous state, do not panic and contact the Admins or the Moderators.
    • Simple Mistakes
One of the ways to revert edits is to check the history of the previous version prior to your edits, view that previous version, open the source code and copy the original code that you think you have accidentally changed. View the current version, open the source code, and paste the code that you have copied previously to the one that you have messed up.
    • Majority of Article Deleted
      Contact the Admins or Moderators.

Skills

When editing the skills section of a student or boss, please use the following or you may check other articles for reference.

Structure

  • If the global translation is available, use them.
  • Always use initials/short forms for the gaming terms such as "HP", "ATK", "DEF", "HEAL", "CRIT.R", "CRIT.DMG", etc.
    • "Seconds" should be shortened to "sec" and "damage" should be shortened to "DMG".
  • Use either "round-shaped", "fan-shaped" or "straight-line" when describing a skills' range unless not written in the original Japanese.

Color

  • Numbers should be colored using {{TextColor|<color>|<number>}} with the color being the students' school theme color.
    • Please also color "round-shaped", "fan-shaped", "straight-line", etc.

Icon

  • Each skill has an icon of its own and you may grab and copy it from All Skill Icon (scroll down). Please make sure that the icon's file name is in all capital letters.
    • New icons will be added from time to time.

Example

Deals {{TextColor|#06bbfa|'''435%'''}} DMG against enemies within a {{TextColor|#06bbfa|'''fan-shaped'''}} area.

Deals 435% DMG against enemies within a fan-shaped area.

Templates

To use a template, you can click on the "Preload template" underneath the editing box if you are using the source editor. Otherwise, check out the Templates Navbox or the Mostlinkedtemplates. Be sure to take a look at the documentation on how to use certain templates. You may also copy from an article that uses the same particular template you are looking for. More preload templates will be added from time to time.

Translation

As translation is very scarce, Google Translate, Yandex Translator or DeepL can be used on our Wikia, but please make sure you rewrite it so that it makes sense and understandable. DeepL is highly recommended.

Sources

As written on the main home page, this Wikia uses a lot of sites as our source of information. That said, this Wikia should use the following sources based on what kind of information is being added.

Credits

Editors need to credit the creator(s) (with links) if they take a piece of information from the sites mentioned above or anywhere else. Editors may not need to credit if they are editing skills or stats. Credits should be written roughly as the following:

  • Credits to [<Source link>|<Source name>] for the information.
This is usually used when only a small portion of the information is added.
  • Information taken from [<Source link>|<Source name>].
This is usually used when almost all of the information is added.

Referencing

References can be added by using the <ref> tag directly after the reference header to indicate where the editor's information came from. They then need to add the <references/> tag under the References header (need to be created) to be visible.

Editors may use the following format:

Main Story/Side Story (Volume), (Chapter), (Episode)

Example:
Main Story Volume 3, Chapter 1, Episode 9
4-Koma Episode 2

Reference Box

Replace <references/> with {{Reference Box|<references />}} when writing more than four reference.s.

Example:

Info 1<ref>Reference 1</ref>
Info 2<ref>Reference 2</ref>
Info 3<ref>Reference 3</ref>
Info 4<ref>Reference 4</ref>
{{Reference Box
|<references/>
}}

Infobox

Infoboxes use another kind of color where it needs to be added in our CSS in order to utilize it. Infobox always has primary and secondary colors under one color name. Every infobox has a color label and editors should only type the name of the color beside the "color" label which looks something like the following. If the color label is left blank, the infobox will use the default color.

|color = enter color name (Abydos/Gehenna/Millennium/Trinity/Hyakkiyako/Red Winter/Valkyrie/Raid/Daily Mission/NPC)

Currently, the available colors are:

Images

Do's

  • The preferred format for uploaded images is .png as many of the templates use .png.
  • Images should be named properly and categorized where applicable.
    • Random names make it hard to find the file. Example of Bad Naming: df416dfr.png.
  • Only images from official sources may be used in the articles. See here for other types of images.
  • Once uploaded, you cannot rename the file, so it must be renamed BEFORE uploading it.
  • When uploading an image, please select "Fair use" under More Options. If you have forgotten to add, go to the image's page, click "Edit", switch to "Source Editing", and paste the following:
    == Licensing ==
    {{Fairuse}}

Don'ts

  • Do not upload profane media, pornographic media, or media containing inappropriate language. Doing so will result in immediate deletion of the image, and the uploader will likely be blocked without warning.
  • Avoid re-upload(s) of the same media. Duplicates will be deleted.
  • Avoid uploading non-Blue Archive-related media as well, though it is still allowed.

Image Gallery

  • When adding a gallery, always use the following options and replace {{{color}}} with the school color of that particular student. If unsure, or for anything else, use our Wikia Theme color, #02D3FB.
<gallery bordercolor={{{color}}} bordersize=medium captiontextcolor=#000000 widths=130px captionalign=center orientation=square hideaddbutton="true">

Other Images

  • Uploading fan art is allowed but please put it only on your page. Do not add it on the forum or official pages.
    • These images should only contain "Fanart" as its category and nothing else.
  • Uploading any media unrelated to Blue Archive is also allowed. Likewise, they should only be added to the user's personal page.
    • These images should only contain "Unrelated" as its category and nothing else.
  • Uploading any official but random Blue Archive media is allowed but should only be added to your page and should not be used outside of it even if the media is related to the character's page such as a character's gallery.
    • Random Blue Archive media are official images or gifs but with names or extensions that don't follow our uploading image standards.
    • These images should only contain "Unordered" as its category and nothing else.
  • These media will be deleted:
    • If they are not in use (except if it's on a user's wall).
    • If they are used outside of the user's page.
  • Such images are not required to be uploaded with a proper name or the .PNG file format, but please avoid excessively uploading such images.

Wikia Images

  • Wikia images are images that do not belong to any article and are mainly used to decorate the Wikia, or more specifically, the Main Page.
    • These images can be Wikia's badges, Wikia Banners, FAQ Images, Poll images, Image-Unavailable or Example images, etc. Most of these are handled by the Admins so editors shouldn't worry about it.
    • They can also be images that are not necessarily from Blue Archive, such as "Checkmark", "Cross" or "Information" symbols
  • Should an editor upload an image that he or she plans to use to decorate the Wikia, they need to add "Wikia Icons" as its category and nothing else.
  • If that particular image is meant to be used on the Main Page, please add "MP" in its name. Example: MP School

Game Icons

Game Icon 2

Various Game Icons

  • Game Icons are images that are found in Blue Archive. They are usually just icons and symbols.
    • Although not all icons will fall under this category.
  • When uploaded, those images needs to contain "Game Icons" as its category. Depending on the icons, other categories may be added. This will be handled by an Admin. Example: Pyroxene

Others

Personal Pages

  • Personal pages such as profile pages, their subpages, and user blogs are up to their respective users to edit however they like, be it for decoration or for code testing, as long as they abide by our rules.
  • Usage of custom media as mentioned in the Other Images section are allowed as long as it's not excessively used (i.e. too many images).
  • Custom templates for personal use are allowed, but once again, do not make too many templates.
  • If for any reason the profile pages break any of our rules, Moderators and Admins will contact their users to alter it and have the right to change or even remove said pages if their respective users refuse to follow.

Commenting

  • Please remain civil in the comments. We don't want to be too strict, but we will take action whenever necessary.
  • Using swear words is allowed, but avoid using them in an insulting manner.
  • Please try and limit your comments to one paragraph whenever possible. Excessive copypasta for whatever reason are prohibited.
  • Please do not spam anything too much, including but not limited to emojis and zalgo.
  • Please limit your degeneracy.
  • Try to speak in English so Moderators and Admins can understand easily, even if your English isn't great.
  • Posting any media through your comments is allowed as long as said media abides by our rules.

Blocking

Users may be blocked on this wiki for the following reasons:

  • Recurring vandalism or spamming
  • Deliberately misgendering (i.e. using the wrong pronouns) and otherwise disrespecting people's stated facts about their person and identity.
  • Recurring harassment, including hounding, personal or legal threats, posting of personal information, repeated messaging and ignoring their request to be left alone
  • Continual edit warring
  • Making a personal attack on another user
  • Sockpuppetry

Extras

If by any chance you are using information from this wiki for other wikis, please avoid copypasting to prevent plagiarism, especially its source code. At the very least, format it in a way that suits the wiki you're editing. The same thing works the other way around.

(Note from JoshuaGreatXD: This is a recurring issue for wikis such as the Heroes Wiki and Villains Wiki, and is possibly an issue for other wikis I've yet to dive into. However, shall you use information from outside pages made by me for this wiki, I'll allow it as long as you inform me so I can better edit it.)

Admins/Moderators

Although it is the Admins/Moderators' duty to keep the Wiki in check, they are incapable of monitoring the Wiki 24/7. We ask for your cooperation in lessening their burden by behaving and abiding by the rules.

If you have any questions or suggestions, or if someone is behaving indecently, please feel free to message an Admin or a Moderator, but please be patient as well in waiting for a response.
